As you may have heard, or seen in the media, the Garfield Re-2 family suffered a significant loss recently with the passing of a second grader at Wamsley Elementary. The loss of any student or staff member is tragic, especially someone so young. Our thoughts and our prayers are with her family in this time of need. - more -

Message from Hello Titan Parents and Guardians! Thank you to all parents and guardians that came to conferences! With 46% of our students represented, we nearly doubled our previous conference numbers. This increased parent/teacher communication shows our students that we are all working together to support them and help them succeed. We also had a strong turnout for our Parents’ Night Out this last week. I hope you all enjoyed the sessions you attended and received some valuable tips from our community and staff presenters. Special thanks to Alpine Bank and our kitchen staff for the great spaghetti dinner, as well as all the presenters who volunteered their time and expertise for the evening. New opportunities exist this year for students to receive extra support in their classes and we are seeing very positive results. Many students took advantage of our Early Start program, reading and studying the textbooks from their classes over the summer. 96% percent of these students have been successful and are passing their classes. Additional opportunities to take “preclasses” along with the required class allows students to study the material in advance in a smaller setting, obtaining all the help they need. |
